About.

Hello. I'm Andrea.

Welcome! I am very happy that you've found my little corner where I get to share my passion for vegan & plant-based foods, wellness, health and fitness and some travel stories...  all about simplifying a balanced lifestyle.

I originally started a blog in 2020 called Lychees and Leggings, but after a lot of consideration I decided to change my blog name and change the focus of my blog to Simply Plant Nourished.

As a 30-something lover of all things food, health, travel and design, I believe it's important to live a balanced lifestyle, laugh at yourself (because sometimes you just have to) and have home-made pizza once a week. None negotiable!  I have to admit I am a little bit obsessed with breakfasts, oat lattes and making granola. Most likely I am currently in my yoga outfit eating tahini by the spoonsful or drinking an oat latte while reading cookbooks.

I'm currently living in Bath, surrounded by the beautiful English Countryside, taking food photos and creating recipes in my spare time.

Changing to a plant-based diet about 7 years ago pushed me to be creative in the Kitchen, creating delicious meals based around wholefoods. I was training for a marathon at that time, so I really had to focus on the right foods and getting the right nutrition. This sparked my interest in nutrition and creative cooking. Food should be exciting and meaningful.

Cooking is such a simple joy in life. The kitchen is my happy place and I love putting on some music, perhaps a glass of wine at hand, all whilst cooking for my loved ones.

For me an important part of a balanced lifestyle is exercise. I try to include a focused exercise at least 5 times a week, which often includes a few runs a week, long walks (at least 7km) on weekends, home workouts, hot yoga, toning and strengthening. It helps me stay healthy, both physically and mentally.

If you stick around I hope to inspire you, to get creative in the kitchen and to show you that living a more nutritious and active lifestyle can be exciting and mostly enjoyable.

Remember, it's never too late to start doing things that benefit your wellbeing. It's about progress and not perfection!  If you are unsure where to start with eating healthier, read my simple guide to healthy eating.
