6 Habits for a Healthy Body and Mind

Updated: Jun 27

Making small changes and learning new habits can be beneficial for your body, mind and soul.

Try these simple steps and turn them into habits:

1. CLEAN SIGHT, CLEAN MIND

Start the day with a clean kitchen - tidy up the night before so the first thing you see is not a messy kitchen, as this could result in you starting the day feeling overwhelmed and demotivated.

Starting the day with clean, tidy surroundings promotes a tidy, uncluttered mind.

2. BUT FIRST, WATER

First thing - drink a large glass of warm water.

Drinking warm water on an empty stomach has many benefits:

It helps your body flush out toxins,

It also helps the body break down food molecules, which leads to better digestion as well as better absorption of nutrients.

It is good for maintaining the right electrolyte balance in the body.

3. HEALTHY FUEL

Make your first meal of the day a healthy meal. Avoid processed sugars to help prevent your body craving more sugar in a few hours time.

4. DON'T LET EXERCISE BE A CHORE

Turn exercise into a habit, rather than a chore. Do this by exercising always at the same time of day.

As an example if you exercise first thing in the morning it will eventually feel less like a chore.

Make it part of your routine.

5. REPLENISH YOUR BODY

Fill a large carafe or bottle with water to help you keep track of how much water you drink. Fill it up a few times a day and keep it in eyesight as a reminder to drink more water.

It is important to keep your body hydrated,

6. REPLENISH YOUR MIND & SOUL

Take time for yourself every day. Whether this means reading a book or meditating.

Self-care is very important.

6. DECLUTTER

Declutter your room, your office and any space you spend a lot of time in.

Clutter creates busyness, around us and in our minds, which can lead to stress and feeling overwhelmed.

Decluttering will make you feel more in control.

Decluttering will allow mindfulness.

What do they say, "out of sight, out of mind?"

Take care and good health,
