8 Festive Vegan Sweet Recipes

Updated: Apr 11

There is no Christmas without sweet treats! The smell of hot cookies, freshly baked filled buns or gingerbread-spiced breakfasts going around the kitchen is a comforting reminder that the holiday season is here.

I believe Christmas treats should be enjoyed throughout December, as the festive season is just too short to enjoy all the delicious treats. Who doesn't want a bit of indulgence during the Christmas period?

As I am writing this post it is actually snowing. Again! It is so magical!

Here are 8 of my favourite vegan sweet recipes to make and enjoy this Christmas.

Vegan Gingerbread hearts with a jam filling

Who doesn't love a jam filled cookie, right? These heart shaped gingerbread cookies are soft and filled with orange marmalade and finished with an icing glaze or dark chocolate. These are easy customisable and can be made with any cookie cutter shape you wish and filled them with any jam of your choice.

These are the essential Christmas cookie.

Vegan gingerbread stars

Beautiful gingerbread biscuits, finished with an icing glaze or dark chocolate. Add some sprinkles or edible glitters to give them an even more festive look.

Gingerbread overnight oats

A sneaky way to eat gingerbread for breakfast. No one will judge as Christmas comes only once a year, right?

Delicious as a cold overnight oats or as a cooked oats.

Chai spiced oats with baked pears

Probably one of my favourite winter breakfasts. Soft baked pears served with a spiced warming oats.

Finish with a few chopped hazelnuts or homemade granola for some crunch.

Vegan gingerbread pancakes

Imagine a stack of these vegan pancakes during the festive season.... Drizzled with a healthy chocolate sauce, these make an indulgent, yet healthy breakfast.

Vegan chocolate and marzipan buns

Soft Christmas music playing in the background with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and these baking in the oven... that's what Christmas should be all about.

Soft, fluffy buns filled with marzipan, chopped nuts and dark chocolate. Best enjoyed freshly baked and still warm whilst the chocolate filling is soft and oozy.

Vegan mince pie truffles

Use left-over mincemeat to make these delightful no-bake bites. Mincemeat, desiccated coconut flakes, crushed biscuits, flaked almonds, coated in dark chocolate and dusted with cinnamon.

These are super easy to make and slightly addictive in my opinion.

AND

Flaky, crispy puff pastry, filled with mince meat and orange marmalade. Not only does this look impressive, but it is really easy to make, requires only a handful of ingredients. Dust with icing sugar for that beautiful snowy effect. This makes a wonderful tear-and-share dessert.
