Cherry Smoothie Bowl

A silky smooth and refreshing smoothie made with cherries, blueberries and banana. Finished with a swirl of yoghurt and crunchy granola.


It might no longer be summer, but this smoothie bowl will certainly make you feel like it is. Enjoy this as a smoothie bowl or a smoothie.



Cherry Smoothie Bowl


TO MAKE THIS I USED

  • frozen cherries

  • frozen blueberries

  • frozen banana

  • vanilla protein powder (optional)

  • a splash of almond milk

  • and yoghurt to finish



ADDITIONAL OPTIONS

  • Replace the cherries or blueberries with frozen raspberries, blackberries or strawberries. Any berry will work.

  • If you don't like banana, you can omit or use frozen mango pieces instead.

  • I added a spoonful of vegan Greek yoghurt at the end, but this is completely optional.

  • Add greens such as spinach of kale.



SMOOTIE VS SMOOTHIE BOWL

If you prefer a smoothie instead of a smoothie bowl, simply add more liquid until the desired consistency.

DELICIOUS WITH...

Some of my favourites to add to my smoothie bowls are

  • banana slices

  • hemp seeds

  • homemade granola

  • fresh or frozen berries

  • a drizzle of tahini or almond butter

CHERRY SMOOTHIE BOWL


Silky smooth and refreshing smoothie made with cherries, blueberries and banana. Finished with a yoghurt swirl and crunchy granola.


SERVES: 1

TIME: Less than 10 minutes



INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup frozen cherries

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries or strawberries

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)

  • a splash of almond milk

  • 1 tbsp vegan yoghurt (optional)



INSTRUCTIONS

Add all the ingredients, except for the vegan yoghurt to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.

Scrape down the sides as needed and add more almond milk as needed.

Add a spoonful of yoghurt and give a rough mix with the spoon (this will give it that swirl effect).

Transfer into a bowl and add your favourite toppings.

Serve immediately!
