Chocolate cooked oats, topped with chocolate yoghurt and chocolate granola. This oats has no added sugar, is chocolaty, rich and creamy.

Using an oat flour, gives it a cake batter like texture, which makes it even more indulgent.

TO MAKE THIS YOU NEED

  • Oat flour or rolled oats

  • cacao powder, unsweetened

  • banana or maple syrup to sweeten

  • hazelnut milk or milk of choice

  • pinch of salt

  • plant-based plain yoghurt

  • chia seeds/ homemade granola/ hempseeds or cacao nibs to serve

  • blackberries or fruit of choice (optional)

THIS OATS IS

  • naturally sweetened

  • rich

  • chocolaty

  • gooey

  • tastes like chocolate cake batter - basically dessert for breakfast

  • healthy

  • quick and easy to make

HOW TO MAKE THIS OATS

  • Blending rolled oats into a floury consistency will give a cake-batter like texture. Alternatively use whole rolled oats as they are. For gluten-free option, use a gluten-free certified oats.

  • Cook the oats to your liking. If you like your oats more runny, add more hazelnut milk or water.

  • To make this a high-protein oats, replace half the cacao powder with chocolate protein powder or add half a scoop of chocolate protein and add more liquid.

  • Serve the cooked oats hot or cold. Either way it will taste amazing.

  • Hazelnut milk is my favourite to use in this recipe, but you can use any milk of choice.

  • I added half a mashed banana to sweeten the oats, but you can alternatively use maple syrup to sweeten if you like.

  • To make the chocolate yoghurt: mix (vegan) plain yoghurt with cacao powder and add a drizzle of maple syrup and serve with the oats.

  • Alternatively, you can use any yoghurt of choice.

  • For extra crunch, sprinkle with cacao nibs, homemade granola and/or hemp seeds.

  • Berries like blackberries and black cherries are especially delicious with this oats.
