Kale & Mango Green Smoothie

Smoothies are a great way to get more fruits and vegetables into our diets.
They are healthy and a perfect on-the-go snack or as a post-workout drink.
All you need is 5 ingredients and 5 minutes to make this smoothie.
TO MAKE THIS YOU NEED
kale
frozen mango
frozen banana
chia seeds
maca powder
squeeze of lime or lemon juice (optional)
ADDITIONAL ADD-INS
Protein powder
Hemp seeds
Tahini or nut butter
Frozen pineapple
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS
Replace the kale with baby leave spinach
Replace the chia seeds with flaxseeds or protein powder
Replace the water with almond or oat milk
INGREDIENTS
KALE
Kale is my favourite leafy green to add to smoothies.
It is one of the healthiest foods and is packed with antioxidants and nutrients, such as:
Vitamin K
Vitamin A
Vitamin C - it contains more than an orange.
Calcium
Phosphorus
The antioxidants in kale help the body remove unwanted toxins.
Kale is high in fiber and water, both of which promote regularity and a healthy digestive tract.
It also promotes healthy skin and hair.
MANGO
Mango is a great fruit to use as it's low in calories and high in fibre.
Mango contains Vitamin A, C, B6 and potassium and helps improve your skin and boost your immune system.
Using frozen banana also adds creaminess to the smoothie
BANANA
Banana is my favourite fruit to use as a natural sweetener.
The frozen banana also adds a creamy, thick texture to the smoothie - which I love!
Bananas contain Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Manganese and Potassium, which are good for your digestion, heart health and blood pressure.
Bananas are also good for your skin and are a good energy booster.

KALE & MANGO GREEN SMOOTHIE
A quick and nutritious snack or post-workout drink.
Serves: 1
Prep time: 5 min
INGREDIENTS
1 cup (packed) raw, chopped kale
1 ripe frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
1 tsp maca powder
1 tbsp chia seeds
1/2 cup of water, or to your liking
1 tsp superfoods green powder (optional)
squeeze of lemon or lime juice (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Add all the above ingredients into a highspeed blender and blend until completely smooth. Add more water or some ice cubes if needed.
