super green thick smoothie

Updated: Sep 21, 2022

Refreshing, sweet and super healthy.

This green smoothie is currently on repeat. I promise you will not taste the hidden greens.

WHAT IS IN THIS SMOOTHIE?
  • baby leave spinach

  • an orange

  • an apple

  • a fresh or frozen banana

  • superfoods greens powder

  • Maca powder

  • protein powder (optional)

ALTERNATIVE & ADDITIONAL ADD-INS
  • Add a tablespoon rolled oats to your smoothie to make it into a breakfast smoothie

  • Flaxseed and chia seeds are great to add to an additional nutrient boost

  • Replace the spinach with kale

  • Replace the water with almond or pea milk

WHY IS IT GOOD FOR YOU?

This smoothie is packed with antioxidants, Vitamin K, vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Potassium, Manganese, Magnesium, Iron and Vitamin B2.

Depending on the green powder you are using, your smoothie might have other benefits.

I love using the green powder from a brand called Naturya which is a mix of Hemp protein, Wheatgrass, Barley grass, Chlorella, Spirulina and Pineapple powder.

TIP!

I prefer a thick consistency for this smoothie, but you can add more water if you prefer it a bit thinner.

Freezing the banana beforehand will give your smoothie a thicker, smooth consistency, but you can also use a fresh banana.
