Tahini & Date Smoothie

Extra thick, extra creamy smoothie bowl made with banana, tahini, date, almond milk and cinnamon.


This is perfect as an afternoon pick-me-up or breakfast smoothie bowl. Add more liquid to make this into a drinkable smoothie.



Tahini and date smoothie recipe


Tahini and date are a classic combination in the middle east. That combination of the nutty, rich tahini together with the sweet date is simply delicious!



THE INGREDIENTS

FROZEN BANANA

Using frozen bananas gives it that extra creamy and thick texture. It also adds natural sweetness.



DATES

Medjool dates are especially great to use, but they are not always everywhere available and can unfortunately be expensive. You can use any soft date or even date syrup.



TAHINI PASTE

Tahini is a paste made from sesame seeds and is one of my favourite ingredients. It is a great alternative to add to smoothies as a replacement for peanut butter. Plus, it has many health benefits.



ALMOND MILK

I personally use an unsweetened almond milk, but you can use any milk you like.



CINNAMON

A little goes a long way. Adding cinnamon adds a wonderful flavour and warmth to the smoothie and also boosts the nutritional value.

TAHINI & DATE SMOOTHIE

Extra thick, extra creamy smoothie bowl made with banana, tahini, date, almond milk and cinnamon.


Serves: 1

Time: 5 minutes



INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp tahini paste

  • 1 -2 Medjool dates or any soft date

  • 2 frozen small bananas

  • 1/2 cup almond milk, or to your liking

  • pinch of cinnamon



INSTRUCTIONS

Add all the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.

Add more liquid if you prefer a runnier consistency.

Finish with a drizzle of tahini, a dusting of cinnamon and cacao nibs. (optional)
