tahini latte

Rich, creamy and nutty. This makes a wonderful treat, especially on a cold winters day.

If you have been following me for a while, you will know that tahini is one of my favourite ingredients to use, in both sweet and savoury dishes. Not only is it versatile and wonderfully delicious, it also has several health benefits and boasts a long list of nutrients.

WHAT IS TAHINI

If you are not familiar with tahini, it is a paste made from sesame seeds. It is rich and creamy and nutty in flavour.

One tablespoon contains 3 grams of protein, 27% of the recommended daily intake (RDI) for copper, 5% RDI calcium and 7% of RDI zinc - just to name a few.

It also supports a healthy heart, may protect against cancer and helps reduce inflammation.

HOW TO MAKE THIS TAHINI LATTE

It is literally as easy as blending all the ingredients for a few seconds and serving it with a dusting of cinnamon.

TO MAKE THIS YOU WILL NEED
  • hot coffee

  • almond milk or milk of choice

  • a good quality, runny tahini

  • soft dates/ date syrup or maple syrup (optional)

  • vanilla extract (optional)

  • and a dusting of cinnamon to finish.
